Can windows serve as fire escape routes? Possibly. Check with your local fire department.

How do you prevent strangulation from window covering cords? Fasten cords high above children’s reach. You can also contact the Window Covering Safety Council for free kits to repair cord hazards.

When should parents begin feeding solid foods to infants? At 4-6 months of age.

Should cereal be added to the baby’s bottle? No. It does not promote better nutrition, and may cause choking.

Do parents have to use commercially prepared foods? No. At 6 months of age, infants can eat strained or mashed foods.

Where can childcare programs find information on required immunizations? The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) update and publish recommendations each year.
